About Us

Church History:

In December 1955, the first meeting was held to discuss the possibility of finding a place to worship once per Sunday in the Kemptville area. Arrangements were made soon after to use the Pentecostal church on Sunday afternoons.

We moved to the I.O.O.F. hall in 1957 to enable us to have two Sunday services. The church made a request to Classis Eastern Canada to organize and in June 1957 the first congregational meeting was held to discuss this course of action. It was also decided to begin looking for a more suitable place of worship.

The search yielded the local Pentecostal church we purchased in 1958. Shortly after this, women were given the right to vote (1959) and the first Vacation Bible School (VBS) was held (1961). During these years, our membership fluctuated between 22 and 27 families.

We have come a long way since 1961. Our present place of worship and adjacent manse were constructed, family membership now stands at 52 and children from outside our church are involved in the many youth programs.

Our future as we see it is bright indeed as a decision has been taken to embark on a building expansion. We hope that this project will move forward and result in construction of a Fellowship Hall, refurbishing of the existing downstairs classroom areas, enlarging the seating capacity in the sanctuary and making our church more accessible by installing a lift from the basement to the floors above. It is with the Lord’s help that our dream will be realized.
